MediaTek Launched its new soc Helio P25 which supports dual camera setup and power saving mode

MediaTek introduced the latest member of the Helio P series chipset family. The processor has octa-core CPU and support for dual cameras. The P25 features a significant step up from the P10, and speed boost to the P20. To entice handset developers to drop in a better chip to the updates for these devices in 2017, the P25 adds another 200 MHz into the cores over the P20, as well as increasing the internal Turbo Engine for a 30-35% performance boost.
Helio P25 Sports a 16nm Manufacturing Process With an Octa-Core CPU and New Power-Saving Technology.

MediaTek Helio P25 offers up to 25 percent better power efficiency and the smaller node allows the processor to gain a higher clock speed while avoiding thermal throttling events. As mentioned earlier, the Helio P25 features an octa-core processor, and all eight of these cores are belonging to Cortex-A53 running at a speed of 2.50GHz. The GPU fitted inside the SoC is an ARM Mali-T880 processor running at a speed of 900MHz.

The MediaTek Helio P25 innovative 12-bit Dual ISP offers:

1.Pioneering Resolution: Up to 24MP single camera or 13MP + 13MP dual camera

2.Dual Camera-optimized: Color + Mono de-noise and real-time shallow DoF bokeh

3.High Dynamic Range: Video HDR with full preview

4.High Performance Auto Exposure: Turbo 3A to accelerate AE convergence speed by 30-55%

The mobile processor is designed to offer quality imaging and to take the mobile photography on a next level where you can take full advantage of today’s dual camera smartphones like iPhone 7 plus. Helio P25 is an evolution to the Helio P10 and Helio P20 chipsets. The newest addition combines dual-camera support with power-saving technology.

Helio P25 brings advanced camera effects at a reasonable price - now you can have Video HDR with full preview and faster time for focusing and snapping images. The chipset will support up to 24 MP single camera or 13MP+13MP dual camera setups.

The octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU is clocked at 2.5 GHz and the GPU that goes along is Mali-T880 clocked at 900 MHz. This 16 nm setup offers up to 25% better power efficiency. The Helio P25 also supports LTE and RAM up to 6GB.

 MediaTek will now give a whole torrent of manufacturers access to this chipset, allowing them to incorporate dual-camera lenses at the rear side of their smartphones. Smartphones with the chipset Helio P25 are expected to be on the market in Q1 2017.
